Educators give so much of themselves with their time, patience, and energy. During the academic year, teachers may feel stretched thin or overwhelmed at times.
Royal Neighbors Chapter 20224 of Memphis, Tennessee set out to uplift the educators in their community by putting together educator appreciation motivation bags for a local school’s teachers and support staff. The bags were filled with items chosen to spark encouragement and brighten a busy week. Along with various kinds of pens, markers, sticky notes, highlighters, and soft peppermints, their bags included inspirational journals with colorful stars and a motivational message, “Vibe Check: Positivity Only” with smiley faces replacing the O’s.
Appreciation motivation bags may seem small, they hold a big reminder for educators: You matter. You are valued. The work that you do makes a difference in the lives of your students and community. And while these bags were given out at the beginning of the school year, there is also a special week set aside to recognize educators nationally.
Teacher Appreciation Week is observed annually during the first full week of May, with National Teacher Day falling on the Tuesday of that week.
