10 Hours That Will Change Lives
On World Kindness Day, consider how you can make a difference for a family in your community.
Adopting a family is a popular way to give back during the holiday season, but it can be so much more than choosing a name from a tree. Think about your connections in the community and reach out to them to determine if they know of a family in need. Women’s shelters, churches, and schools are a great place to start.
One of our chapters adopted a local family from Tanzania who was preparing for their first winter with snow. They purchased warm clothing and snow boots for each family member. Hat and glove donations were collected and delivered to the family as well.
Below is how they implemented the 10-hour project plan:

| Communicating with school counselor about needs | 1 hour |
| Shopping for the best deals on boots and clothing | 6 hours |
| Wrapping gifts | 2 hours |
| Delivering gifts | 1 hour |
We can help you! We are proud to support our Members as they serve their community through volunteerism. If approved, the Royal Neighbors Difference Maker Fund provides up to $200 in seed money to help you maximize your monthly volunteer hours!
