Royal Neighbors of America Commitment to Accessibility

Royal Neighbors strives to make its websites easy to use and accessible to all audiences, regardless of disability or technology.

Accessibility Guidelines

Website accessibility is important to us. Royal Neighbors makes every effort necessary to meet online usability and design requirements recommended by the World Wide Web Consortium in its Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1AA (an internationally recognized standard) as a guide when building and updating our web content. We are committed to facilitating the accessibility and usability of our websites for people with disabilities. Royal Neighbors is continually making improvements. Our plan is to have our websites tested on a periodic basis. We have engaged experienced accessibility consultants to assess our digital accessibility and provide specific recommendations and feedback to facilitate further accessibility and conformance with WCAG, and with applicable laws.

Royal Neighbors is constantly working to increase the accessibility and usability of this website by adding appropriate alternate text to images and creating forms that are navigable using a keyboard.

We use JavaScript (a scripting language widely used in website development) to deliver an enhanced user experience for things like rollover menus and conditional content visibility. Google offers information on how to enable JavaScript.

For the best experience, Royal Neighbors recommends that you keep your technology up to date with the latest version of your web browser and latest version of assistive technology software/hardware.

If you find that the text used within our websites is too small, you can easily change this within your browser settings. To do this, please follow the provided links to the appropriate instructions for your web browser.

PDF (Portable Document Format) Files

Some information on our websites is in PDF files. You can view and print them using Adobe Acrobat Reader® or other PDF readers, so that screen readers, like JAWS or NVDA can relay words, we “tag” pictures with words and use headings and lists. We also set the language and title properties to help electronic reading tools know the language to use and how to speak the words on the page. Some older PDFs may not have these features. If you encounter a PDF you cannot read, please use the contact information below to let us know. We can send it to you in another format.

For more information about PDF accessibility, visit the Adobe web accessibility website. For more help with Acrobat files and a link to download Acrobat Reader, visit the Adobe reader download site.

Request Assistance and Provide Us Feedback

While we strive to adhere to the appropriate standards and guidelines, it may not always be possible to do so in all areas of our websites. Royal Neighbors will continue to review test and modify our websites and any future releases of our websites, for web accessibility issues.

For more information on available accessible formats or to request an available accessible format document, please contact us.
