Royal Neighbors of America values your privacy. This notice describes how we protect your personal information and the limited instances in which we might share your personal information with others. The last section on the back of this page tells how you can contact us to limit certain types of information sharing. You don’t need to do anything if the practices and procedures below meet your expectations.

ROYAL NEIGHBORS PROTECTS CUSTOMER INFORMATION

In order to keep your personal information confidential, we employ physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards. In addition, Royal Neighbors regularly reviews and updates its policies and practices, monitors its computer networks, and tests the strength of its security. We restrict employee access to customer information to those with a need to access or use the information to provide products and/or services to you. If we give anyone access to your information, including vendors, or marketing partners, we require them to follow appropriate standards, procedures, and laws.

INFORMATION THAT ROYAL NEIGHBORS COLLECTS

We ask for only the personal information necessary to deliver products and services to you. This information is used to provide you with the product or service you applied for, to offer you additional products and services, to evaluate and pay claims for benefits, and to assist you in managing your certificates or membership accounts. Collecting this information also allows us to inform you of fraternal and chapter events and activities and helps us operate our chapter system. The categories and types of information we collect:

INFORMATION SHARING AND DISCLOSURE

We may share your information with our home office staff in order to process your application or claim, administer your certificate or account, provide you with a service you request, or to administer our business.

We may share your information with your agent. Your agent is bound by an agency contract and must abide by our privacy policy. Your agent may use this information to service your certificate or provide a service you requested. In certain cases, your agent may offer you additional products and services. You should ask your agent for information on his/her privacy practices.

We may share your information with non-affiliates to process your application or claim, administer your certificate, provide you with a requested service or to administer Royal Neighbors’ business (such as maintaining or developing software). All non-affiliates have contractual relationships with Royal Neighbors which require them to abide by certain privacy and data security requirements in order to further protect your information.

We may share data that identifies you and your fraternal relationship data with organizations that perform marketing services on our behalf pursuant to your authorization. We provide information regarding your membership status to your local Royal Neighbors chapter.

We may share information as the law permits or requires (government agencies or in response to subpoenas). Royal Neighbors does not knowingly sell information on its customers who are minors under the age of 16 without affirmative legal authorization.

Should your relationship with Royal Neighbors end, we may continue to share information and let you limit the sharing as described in this notice as if you were a current customer. Once Royal Neighbors no longer needs to retain personal information, it will be disposed of in a secure manner.

Because of our unique history, some information we collect or that is provided by you in relation to your activities in one of our chapters or other member programs may be retained as part of our fraternal library.

HOW YOU CAN LIMIT THE INFORMATION WE SHARE

To limit the sharing of personal information or to opt-out from some kinds of sharing and marketing offers, please visit the Royal Neighbor website at http://www.royalneighbors.org/privacy-notice, download the Opt-Out Form, and return it to the Home Office. You should know that our regular required mailings to you may still contain marketing materials and we may still share your name, address and telephone number as well as the existence of your products, services or benefits as needed by our fraternal operations, including chapters.

Upon request, Royal Neighbors will permit you to access your personal information so that you may view, update or correct it. We may take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting you access to the information.

Royal Neighbors will not discriminate against you based on your choice to exercise any rights prescribed to you by law.

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Notice. If a material change is made to this Privacy Notice, a revised version of the Privacy Notice will be made available to you.
