Royal Neighbors of America empowers women and serves communities nationwide.

Rock Island, Ill. (Sept. 19, 2023) – Royal Neighbors of America, a women-led fraternal benefit society in Rock Island, Ill. presented Beautiful You by Profile cofounder Pam Westers with a Nation of Neighbors℠ empowerment award and grant.

Nation of Neighbors is Royal Neighbors of America’s signature women’s empowerment program. It recognizes and supports women who work to empower women and girls through a nonprofit, business, or program. Royal Neighbors offers life insurance and annuity products to its members and is driven by its mission of supporting women and serving communities.

Nation of Neighbors recipients are influential leaders who exemplify the Royal Neighbors “neighbor-helping-neighbor” mission of community service. They are nominated by Royal Neighbors members.

Beautiful You by Profile is a 501c3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to help women and girls undergoing cancer treatment look and feel beautiful, provide a support system, share resource awareness, and engage with their ongoing wellness.

“Since 2014, we have served thousands of incredible women throughout Michigan,” said Ms. Westers.

When women join the Beautiful You program, they receive a series of appointments that may include a head shave, wig fitting, pedicure, manicure, highlights, and massage. All women in the program receive a complimentary synthetic wig and headcover.

“Women visit us when they are most vulnerable,” said Ms. Westers. “We want them to leave every visit feeling good about themselves inside and out – and we’ve never had someone leave unhappy.”

Beautiful You will use their Nation of Neighbors grant to purchase more wigs, head coverings, and supplies for chemotherapy comfort bags.

Royal Neighbors’ Senior Member Engagement Specialist Darcy Smith presented the award and grant to Ms. Westers. “The ripple effect of Pam’s leadership is significant and immeasurable. Many women impacted by the tremendous value of Beautiful You services return as volunteers,” she said. “They are grateful for the opportunity to empower more women. That’s what Nation of Neighbors is all about!”

To date, Royal Neighbors has awarded more than $2.5 million in Nation of Neighbors grants nationwide.
