DIFFERENCE MAKER FUND PROJECT – DIY STEPS

Materials Needed: paper/card, pen/pencil, envelope, and a stamp.

Optional: markers/colored pencils, stickers, construction paper, and/or scissors.

  1. Choose an Organization/Facility
Locate an organization or facility, such as an assisted living or care facility, that is accepting cards and letters for its residents. You may need to sign up with the organization/facility, so be sure to confirm details of how to begin.
  2. Write a Letter or Card
Get some paper or a greeting card and write a meaningful message. You can include stickers, drawings, or any combination of other embellishments.
  3. Mail the Letter or Card
Place your letter or card in an envelope, add the recipient’s address, and a stamp.
  4. Encourage + Repeat
Encourage your friends and family to also become a pen pal. You can be a pen pal for multiple people and write as often as you like – remember, you don’t have to wait for a response in order to send another message.
