As the end of the school year approaches, consider how you can make a difference for children in your community! Here are a few examples of how our members have used the Difference Maker Fund (DMF) to empower students in their neighborhoods.

Member: Katye Carson
Project Title:
The Hooded Heroes Foundation
Kayte Carson’s DMF amplified The Hooded Heroes mission to help future Welders overcome financial obstacles. Their vision is to inspire people to choose to make a bigger and brighter future for themselves. Kayte used DMF funds to purchase proper PPE and necessary tools for their education.

Member: Ashley Dugo
Project Title:
Helping with School Supplies
“My friend is a special education teacher, and she needed help with purchasing supplies and items to promote focus in the classroom,” said Ashley. “The Difference Maker Fund helped us purchase all the supplies on her wish list plus more!”

Member: Patricia Eidsmoe Torres
Project Title:
Insect Discovery Kit
Patricia built an insect discovery kit for her local elementary school. Each year she tries to think of new innovative ways to enhance her previous projects and to meet more staff needs. Her DMF project included a mobile cart for learning outdoors, 30 insects preserved in resin, large tweezers for little hands, insect-carrying cases, and magnifying boxes. “The Difference Maker Fund inspired this project, and three donors later - we now have a comprehensive cart to share amongst the classrooms, said Patricia.”
