More than 220,000 members like you have the opportunity to turn their passions into a project to give back to their community.

With help from the Royal Neighbors of America Difference Maker Fund, members are finding new ways to make a big impact every day. Check out how some of our members of all ages have been making a difference in their neighborhoods.

Agent and Member Phyllis Johnson used her Difference Maker Fund to purchase cards, envelopes, and stamps. She writes thank you notes to service members and sends them throughout the year.

Rita Kannenberg and friends used funds to purchase material, thread, and batting to make quilts for hospice patients. When their loved ones pass away, the families have a treasured memorial to take home with them.

Leah Saelens and church members came together to clean up the church preschool’s outdoor classroom. The $200 from the Difference Maker Fund was used to purchase mulch, dirt, and seeds to create a school community garden. Volunteers helped spread mulch, power wash equipment, and build a pallet car and mud kitchen for the preschool.

Youth Member Giovanni Chuchoque and family used funds to purchase building materials and books for a Little Free Library at their local school. The family built the lending library, installed it, and hosted a book drive at the school.

Shannon Huber and friends used their Difference Maker Fund to purchase supplies to create uplifting booklets for a local nursing home. The booklets included notes, humor, verses, and quotes to inspire joy and connection.

Crystal Chatman and chapter members purchased postage, gift cards, envelopes, stickers, paper, and markers to create letters with inspirational words and affirmations. The letters will be distributed to 200 girls across the world.

Member Madeline Jefferson and friends used the Difference Maker Fund to purchase food and essential items for the homeless community. The group prepared and distributed forty dinners as well as twenty gift bags filled with daily necessities.

Sidney Cheever and fifteen volunteers hosted a golf outing to help raise funds for renovations to their community pool. The Difference Maker Fund was used to purchase supplies and food for the post-golf dinner.

If you plan a volunteer project, remember you can apply for a Difference Maker Fund grant once a year to help offset the costs of your volunteer project. If approved, you will receive $200 to make a positive social impact in your community.  Learn more today!
