It’s the season of giving. But where will we give, how will we give, and what will we give? There are so many ways to make a difference in the lives of others that it is sometimes difficult to decide where we can make the biggest impact.

The RNA Foundation is a great place to start. Many people in need have benefitted from the Foundation’s assistance since its inception, including families of military personnel. They have been treated to special get-togethers and have been provided phone cards to help make staying in touch easier.

Members of our Greensburg, KS, chapter also were given financial assistance following a tornado that caused extensive damage to 50% of the town. Members from across the country contributed funds to the RNA Foundation, which in turn used them, along with matching funds from Royal Neighbors, to help rebuild lives. That’s the RNA Foundation at work.

As you plan your holiday giving, consider this – if you have $10 to give, that can help. But, if you and 999 other people each put $10 into the RNA Foundation, that’s $10,000! Just think how far $10,000 can go to help others!

As the funds in the RNA Foundation grow, they provide the opportunity to meet the needs of many worthy causes. According to Patsy Kneller, RNA Foundation Board Member and Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity in San Angelo, TX, “The RNA Foundation is a community source through which funds are funneled to provide assistance to individuals across the country. With the available monies, we are prepared to reach out on a sizeable scale and bring an issue forward, making it real and making a difference.

“Royal Neighbors members can be confident that their donations will be used to create solutions that will have a significant effect on individuals who truly need our help.”

Ms. Kneller encourages members to “give back” for the holidays, not just “give” for the holidays. “Help facilitate a healing for the next year. Give a gift of hope through the RNA Foundation.”
