Local Involvement

One of the great traditions of Royal Neighbors of America is its nationwide system of local chapters, also known as camps. Chapters are community-focused, family-oriented organizations that provide social, educational and community service activities for members and their families and friends. Membership in Royal Neighbors chapters nationwide totals more than 232,000.

As a result of purchasing a life insurance or annuity certificate or Medicare supplement insurance plan, you become a member of one of our more than 1,200 chapters across the nation. Alternatively, if you find that our products are unable to meet your needs, you may join Royal Neighbors as a general member. Participation in chapter activities is entirely voluntary.

As a chapter member, you are part of a fellowship of people who meet to discuss ways to further Royal Neighbors' mission of fraternalism. This includes developing family activities, planning social outings and organizing community service projects. Royal Neighbors has a long history and tradition of supporting social and political issues important to women and those they care about.

You are usually assigned to a chapter located in your community or one nearby. Each chapter seems to have its own unique personality, a reflection of its membership and community.

The range of activities that chapters plan is equally diverse. One month, a local chapter might host a family fish fry and game night; the following month, help build a local Habitat for Humanity home; and the following month, hold a bake sale to benefit its volunteer fire department. Read about a Featured Chapter to see what one of our most active camps/chapters is doing.

Royal Neighbors also has special youth chapters for members age 16 and under. Youth chapter activities emphasize quality learning experiences, fun social activities and community service projects.

Today's chapter meetings are about having fun, making new friends, and helping others. They create family time, something needed in our busy, fast-paced world.

A new chapter structure also has come to Royal Neighbors. This new structure is bringing together businesswomen, artists, doctors, retirees, and stay-at-home moms, it celebrates women's diversity and fosters their strengths through relevant programs, networking, guest speakers, and community outreach.
