Volunteering
Make a Difference Through Community Service
Our founders recognized the importance of extending the hand of friendship to their communities. As early as 1900, our chapters, run by volunteers, provided financial relief to the sick, for instance, as well as non-financial assistance such as physician visits to needy neighbors and their families. Our members raised more than $4,000 for the chapters affected by the San Francisco earthquake of 1906 as well as provisions, clothing, and money. That would equal more than $92,000 by today’s standards.
Today, we are still committed to extending the hand of friendship. Since 1964, our members have volunteered nearly 20 million hours with a total value of almost $350 million. In the past 40 years we contributed more than $28 million to support individuals and families in need.
We have 1,000 chapters nationwide with members who make a difference every day participating in themed events, community service projects, and fund-raisers. If you are interested in joining or starting a chapter in your community, call (800) 627-4762.
Our chapters serve as a forum for bringing together women from all backgrounds and interests to celebrate women’s diversity and foster their strengths through relevant programs, networking, guest speakers, and community-based volunteer activities. To find the Royal Neighbors chapter nearest you, visit the Chapter Locator section or Contact Us at the Home Office for more information.
