Frequently Asked Questions

Nation of Neighbors

Q: What is Nation of Neighbors?

A: Nation of Neighbors is a program that demonstrates our commitment to empowering women. Through nominations from our members (including our agents), Nation of Neighbors provides financial support to empower women of strength and courage, achieve their full potential, realize a sense of renewed personal growth, and make a difference in their communities.

Q: What are the eligibility requirements to nominate?

A: Members have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of women by submitting a nomination for the Nation of Neighbors Program. Nominations must make a long-term impact on a woman's life. You do not have to be a member to receive an award, but you must be a member to nominate.  Previous recipients are not eligible.  Nominator and Nominee must be 18 years or older.

Q: Why is Royal Neighbors giving away money?

A:  Royal Neighbors established the Nation of Neighbors Program as a tangible expression of our neighbor-helping-neighbor philosophy. This program is a vehicle through which Royal Neighbors can support, encourage, and give back to the community. Since 2007, Nation of Neighbors has changed the lives of over 900 individuals and families.

Q: How much money can each recipient receive?

A:  The award amounts may vary. Recipients are selected by a panel of reviewers based on how the funds will empower women.  All decisions are final and are at the discretion of the panel.

Q: Does the nominee need to be female?

A: No. You may nominate anyone (including yourself) who, with financial assistance through the program, will empower a woman or women to achieve her full potential, realize a sense of renewed personal growth, and make a difference in her community.

Q: I know someone who could use some help, but I am concerned that she does not want others to know.

A: We understand your concerns and want to assure you that only a small group of people will review the nominations.  We will still award money to people who do not want their stories published.

Q: Can the funds be used to support a non-profit organization that empowers women?

A:  No. The Nation of Neighbors program is designed to give our members the opportunity to make a personal, direct impact on a woman's life.
