Royal Neighbors of America Governance

Royal Neighbors of America adopted bylaws and articles of incorporation in 1895 when it became a fraternal benefit society. Created to help govern the Society, they have been amended during many National Conventions throughout the past century. Currently the board of directors is the supreme governing body of the Society. As such, the board of directors is authorized to amend the Society's bylaws and articles of incorporation. The Society's most recent bylaws and articles of incorporation * were amended in August 2007.

Since 2004 the Society's board of directors has been elected by direct election of the beneficial members in good standing. The slate is composed of individuals nominated by a nominating committee, and from those individuals nominated by the membership through a nomination process. The election nomination form provides information for interested members. Outside board candidates must meet the qualifications set forth in the bylaws.

Members eligible to vote in the 2008 board of directors election will be mailed a ballot in June. Please take a moment to vote and return your ballot. Your vote is important!
